Notre Dame students, faculty, staff, & retirees

Notre Dame students, faculty and staff, and retirees may use their valid Notre Dame ID card to gain access to RecSports facilities: Smith Center for Recreational Sports in the Duncan Student Center, North Dome, and Rockne Memorial.

Spouses of Notre Dame Faculty, Staff, and Students

Registered spouses with the University are welcome to recreate in our spaces. In order to visit us, all spouses must fill out the RecSports Spouse Account access form to receive login credentials to sign into the RecRegister portal. Spouses may not enter facilities or participate in any RecSports fitness programming without a RecSports Spouse Account.

Please allow two full business days to receive your RecRegister credentials. Note that Spouses are not permitted to participate in intramural sports.

Children of Notre Dame Faculty, Staff, and Students

Children of currently employed and/or enrolled members of the University community are welcome to recreate in RecSports spaces during Family Hours for no fee. For more information about our Family Hours and which facilities participate, please visit our All Hours page.

If children are seeking to access RecSports spaces outside of Family Hours, they are considered a guests and must adhere to the guest policies. Please note that the Smith Center for Recreational Sports and the Climbing and Bouldering Wall do not permit participants under the age of 18 at any time.

Children are not permitted to be left unaccompanied outside RecSports facilities, in RecSports facility lobbies, or other RecSports spaces unattended at any time.  

Holy Cross & Saint Mary's College students

Holy Cross and Saint Mary's College students are welcome in our RecSports facilities under the following parameters:

Smith Center for Recreational Sports in the Duncan Student Center

  1. To gain access to the Smith Center for Recreational Sports in the Duncan Student Center, the Holy Cross or Saint Mary's College student must present their student I.D. card and come in with a Notre Dame sponsor. The Notre Dame sponsor must stay with the guest for the duration of their workout. The sponsor is responsible for all actions of their guest.
  2. A waiver form will be filled out on the first initial visit.

North Dome

  1. To gain access to the North Dome, the Holy Cross or Saint Mary's College student must present their student I.D. card and come in with a Notre Dame sponsor. The Notre Dame sponsor must stay with the guest for the duration of their workout. The sponsor is responsible for all actions of their guest.
  2. A waiver form will be filled out on the first initial visit.

Rockne Memorial

  1. To gain access to Rockne Memorial, the Holy Cross or Saint Mary's College student must present their student I.D. upon entry. No Notre Dame sponsor is required.
  2. A waiver form will be filled out on the first initial visit.

Notre Dame alumni

Notre Dame alumni are not eligible to utilize RecSports facilities.

On-call & temporary employees

On-call & temporary employees are not allowed access to RecSports facilities.

Parents & Siblings of current Notre Dame students

Parents and siblings of current Notre Dame students may be a RecSports guest and visit our facilities free of charge. They will, however still have to sign our Guest Waiver and sign in with their sponsor. 

Guest passes

  • Members are allowed up to three (3) guests per day at the rate of $7 per guest. Each guest must present valid photo identification upon entry.
  • All guests must sign a waiver upon entry. Waivers are required for each visit.
  • Day passes may be purchased with a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or Discover).
  • The sponsor may not leave RecSports facilities without their guest(s), and must accompany their guest(s) at all times throughout the visit.
  • Members are responsible for the conduct of their guest(s) and are subject to all rules and regulations affiliated with a day pass, including membership termination should their guest’s conduct warrant.
  • Under-age members (17 years of age and under) may not sponsor a guest.
  • Guests or day pass holders may not check-out equipment, make court reservations, or participate in Sport Programs or Fitness programs.
  • Day passes will not be sold within one hour of closing.
  • Day passes are non-transferable and non-refundable.
